58 Marygate, York, The Cottage

Recently completely refurbished, 58 Marygate is a 300 year old cottage that is full of character. We have a wonky winding staircase, original period features, a brick archway from the landing into the twin bedroom and quirky doors. We have created a luxury 4 bedroom holiday cottage for you to rent for short breaks or weekly stays.

Marygate is a really interesting street with some fantastic old buildings, turn right out of the front door and you and in 50 metres you will find the River Ouse and the fantastic highly acclaimed 'Roots' restaurant. Marygate is a great street because it is so close to the City Centre yet is relatively quiet.

The lounge has a Georgian fireplace, 40" Panasonic Smart TV with Netflix, comfy sofas, leather armchairs, Pioneer HiFi and solid oak floor. There's a great picture of 'Stanley'  by a local artist

The hand made kitchen has top quality appliances. We have an integrated dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer. There is also a range cooker and belfast sink. The kitchen has a large antique refectory table, pew, bench and two chairs which comfortably seats 8 adults. There is also underfloor heating, making it a really cosy room.

Up the wonky winding staircase you will come to the landing with the beautiful original Georgian Fireplace.

The master bedroom is at the front of the house with a great view over the entrance to the Museum Gardens. It has a super comfy King Size bed with top of the range 100% cotton bedding, it also has a wardrobe, bedside cabinetsand Sont Smart TV with Netflix. It also features an en-suite shower room with power shower.

Bedroom 2 is also at the front of the house overlooking St Olaves Church and the entrance to the Museum Gardens. It has a King Size bed with top quality cotton bedding, wardrobe with drawers, bedside cabinets, dressing table and Sony Smart TV with Netflix.

The twin dormer bedroom is at the back of the cottage, and has a great view down Marygate Lane, it has really comfy single beds with crisp, soft and luxurious bedding. There is a chest of drawers and a smart tv with Netfix.

Upstairs, there is also the main bathroom with travertine tiles and quality fittings like a freestanding bath, hansgrohe rain shower, duravit toilet and freestanding basin.
